1. Quit Constantly Looking at Yourself in the Mirror or Completely Avoiding It.
Neither completely ignoring your acne nor obsessing over it will clear your skin. Instead, looking at yourself excessively and focusing solely on aspects that you are more self-conscious about will only stress you out. Additionally, stress will worsen your acne by triggering hormones. Relax and show yourself some love and kindness by keeping in mind that it is only temporary. If you really cannot resist looking at your face multiple times, tell yourself something you love about your appearance. It might sound corny, but it helps in restoring your self-confidence and gradually building upon it. When you have negative thoughts like “I’ve got a big pimple, and everyone will stare at it”, counteract it with positive thoughts such as “I’m going to have fun with my friends tonight.” It is estimated that you have approximately 60,000 thoughts daily. That’s 60,000 possibilities to either tear yourself down or build yourself up!
